西口明宏 -Akihiro Nishiguchi- サックスプレイヤー/コンポーザー
中学入学と同時にビックバンドジャズに出会いテナーサックスを手にする。 2006年、バークリー音楽院卒業後は活動拠点をニューヨークに移し、自己グループによるNYライブハウスでのレギュラー演奏、映像やダンスなど他ジャンルとの共演など多くのミュージシャンと出会い、セッションを重ねる。 2010年、ニューヨークでの活動から東京に拠点を移し新たなプロジェクトを開始。現在は自身のグループFOTOSや、黒田卓也(tp)、中林薫平(bs)、古谷淳(pf)、海野俊輔(ds)、Michel Reis(pf)ほか多くのグループに参加。 2014年にブルーノート75周年記念ライブのメンバーに抜擢され、日野皓正(tp)山中千尋(pf)ロンカーター(bs)ジーンジャクソン(ds)とのグループでブルーノート東京に出演し好評を博す。 2017年には自身のサックストリオ（須川崇志(bs）、石若駿(ds)）でデトロイトジャズフェスティバルに出演、現在までにアメリカ、台湾、ルクセンブルクなどの多くの国際ジャズフェティバルに出演する。 2010年にデビューアルバム「Tre agrable」、2013年には「PINGO」、2020年に自身が主催するグループFOTOS(ハクエイキム(p)ジェームス・マコーレー（tb）吉良創太(ds)マーティー・ホロウベック(bs)）にて３枚目のリーダーアルバム「FOTOS」をリリースする。
AKIHIRO NISHIGUCHI(Jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger)
A native of Osaka, Japan, Aki Nishiguchi began studying classical piano at the age of five and picked up the saxophone at twelve. After performing regularly in Osaka for several years, Nishiguchi decided to pursue his musical studies overseas.
In 2004, he was accepted into the prestigious Berklee College of Music on scholarship where he studied with legendary musicians and educators Frank Tiberi, George Garzone, Joe Lovano and Hal Crook.
After leaving Berklee, Nishiguchi moved to New York City and quickly ensconced himself in the vibrant N.Y.C. jazz scene.
In 2010, Nishiguchi released the solo album: "Tre Agrable" featuring Uri Gurvich on Alto Sax, Pascal Niggenkempar on bass, Lawrence Fields on Piano and Nick Falk on drums, followed by "PINGO" featuring Daiki Yasukagawa on bass, Hakuei Kim on Piano and Ko Omura on Drums in 2012.
In 2016, Nishiguchi received 1st place at the Detroit Jazz Festival Competition in Yokohama. In 2016, His own group performed at DETROIT INTERNATIONAL JAZZ FESTIVAL in the U.S.A where their performance and repertoire were highly acclaimed by both the audience and the critics.
Nishiguchi currently resides in Tokyo, Japan where he performs both as a sideman and leader. Some of the notables that Nishiguchi has played with internationally include Ron Carter, Takuya Kuroda, Michel Reis, Billy Drummond, Kiyashi Kitagawa, Uri Gurvich, Leo Genovese, Bob Mintzer, Terumasa Hino, Teriver Chang, Aaron Choulai.
